Sofie Nys, Purchasing Manager, Sucafina NV
As Purchasing Manager for Sucafina’s specialty division in Europe, Sofie focuses on buying a wide selection of coffees from a carefully curated list of coffee producers and partners. She also shares her experience in coffee on the sales front with coffee roasters in France.
Now for the occasion of WOC, after 12 years at Sucafina, you can find her again where it all began: at the brewing station playing with various recipes and exceptional coffees.
Simon Claeys, Managing Director Sucafina in Burundi (Bucafe)
After 15 years in Switzerland, a one-day idea to cross Africa turned into a bold professional shift. I now lead Sucafina in Burundi, where we manage 22 washing stations and a dry mill. Our team oversees the full coffee value chain—from farmer to roaster—crafting exceptional specialty green coffee while honoring the work of thousands of smallholder farmers.
About Sucafina
As the coffee industry continues to evolve, roasters are changing the ways they source green coffee. Sucafina’s tagline “Source Smart” epitomizes the transition away from opaque, outdated “commercial” supply chain structures and towards a model that’s more analytical, collaborative, and concerned with the long-term health and sustainability of the entire industry.
