About Balázs Bakos
Balázs Bakos is a co-founder of Roastopus, where he has been leading green coffee sourcing and roasting since early 2018. An engineer by trade, his journey into specialty coffee began as a passion project—complete with a modified home popcorn maker. While he fuels his days with an endless supply of espresso, he is equally fond of juicy filter coffees, with Ethiopia always holding a special place as his favorite origin.

Roastopus is a Hungarian micro-roastery founded in 2018, when engineers Gabi and Balázs decided to embark on a new adventure together. Coffee roasting quickly turned into a shared passion, with a sharp focus on light roasts and uncompromising consistency from day one. Their mission remains simple: to craft exceptional coffees that they are proud to drink themselves, day after day.
